"We organize regular expeditions with the research/survey vessel "Alif Hajiyev" of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources to assess the environmental situation in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea, as well as study the biological resources and hydrological situation of the sea, and determine the possible negative impacts on the marine environment,” said Azerbaijan’s Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Mukhtar Babayev at a session of the expert group studying the reasons of changes in the Caspian Sea level and preparation of appropriate adaptation measures.
Noting that they are ready to share the monitoring data collected during the expeditions with all stakeholders, the minister said: "We propose to implement joint environmental monitoring in the Caspian Sea."
